Start of the next phase, Taxol and Herceptin

Today is the last day before the start a new chemo regimen. Jamie’s feeling a little shaky which she hasn’t experienced before on her 2nd Sundays. We hope that this is nothing major and doesn’t disrupt tomorrow’s plan.

The next set of drugs will be Taxol and Herceptin.

For the first treatment, the total duration is around 3.5 hours so it will be a long afternoon. I am hoping that things are running smoothly tomorrow and that we do not have any long delays.

The common side effects are:
– Joint and muscle pain
– Tingling in hands and feet
– Nausea
– Diarrhea
– Mouth sores
– Hypersensitivity reactions
– Body pain
– Weakness

Pray that Jamie’s side effects are minimal.

This treatment will last for 12 weeks with the last treatment planned for October 28th. Jamie will be going for treatment every Monday; however, we will only see the doctor on weeks 1, 5, 9, and 12. The other weeks will just be Labs and Chemo.

So please pray that things go well tomorrow and for this set of drugs.

Tonight we started training for the 2024 olympics. Or . . . we were just trying to get rid of some of the kid’s energy.
