Today was a good day. After a night of minimal sleep and naseousness, Jamie took a few steps in her recovery. Literally, she got out of bed and walked over to the recliner. . . .”Phew, that was a ‘long’ walk”. . . . It’s one of the checkpoints in getting her closer to being able to leave the hospital. She’s also been able to eat three meals so that’s great.
They removed the epidural which was giving her a nerve blocker for pain management. We’ll see how well the pain can be managed. Up to this point, it’s been about a 5-6 on the 10 point scale. She’s now going to receive tylenol and other pain killers.
With the revolving door of nurses, doctors, techs, aids, students, etc. . . . Jamie’s having a hard time getting a solid couple of hours of sleep. I think she had her eyes open for a total of 5 minutes while the doctors stopped by for their visits. It’s okay, she’ll get the details tomorrow. Hopefully tonight things will have settled down and she’ll be able to rest.
So our hope is that Dr. Yen and Dr. Hijjawi will give Jamie the thumbs up to be discharged. If everything goes quickly, Jamie could be home by early afternoon, see the kids before they’re off to my parents, and she will have the next few days to rest.
Happy Thanksgiving! and safe travels.
Glad you are eating – that would be my first step! Hoping you get released soon & can snuggle those kiddos before some restful time at home. Keep up the good work & happy Thanksgiving. Thanking God for my friend’s recovery and restored health!

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

1 Peter 5:9-10 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace,who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
What great news!! We will continue to pray for Jamie and the rest of your family.
Lots of prayers and love your way. You and your families have been a role model for strength. Love you all xoxo
